the Uber Sexual
if you've been reading the latest issue of URBAN, and recent releases of TIME and NEWSWEEK, you'll know there's a new kind of guy. that's the ubersexual.
essentially he's a fashionable masculine male who is not an oestrogen-overdosed sissy like a metro. he'd rather hang out with the guys and watch soccer. he also has a big personality and leadership abilities and is smart, and at the same time unlike the majority of guys he knows his style and enjoys shopping and stuff and stuff like that. yeah you get the idea, whatever.
as alvin told me once that "your girlfriends last like four or five months, then gone already. whereas your guy friends, your buddies, they will always be there for you and they will be your pals forever." and in future you'll all help each other with networking and lobang and stuff. "therefore everytime my gf and my frens ask me out on the same day i will ditch the girl and meet my frens." it's long-term thinking and investment. he should know, he's had 7 gfs and we're rocking single now. he's a habit of getting dared to ask girls on the street for their numbers. when they give him, he deletes the number from his phone in front of her face and sneers something along the lines of you suck. i was like omgwtf
what freaks me is actually the use of the prefix "uber". most of my friends i hang out with pretty much fit the description: smart guys who enjoy shopping as much as lanning as much as clubbing, and they sure can turn on the charm. but "uber" means and connotes "superer than super", as in "that's uber cool" or "you're t3h uberer ownage pwn3rer". it's reserved for REALLY powerful people who REALLY deserve your respect, and therefore an extremely exceptional and outstanding minority. Kings and Gods, the kind whom you'd pat on the back and say "you da man!"
we've never thought of ourselves this way. not nearly exceptional or outstanding or uber enough. we're just normal, and most of the "ubersexuals" mentioned probably consider themselves pretty much normal guys too. so there's nothing "uber" about it if so many of us fit the description of "ubersexual". if everybody is uber, uber isn't uber anymore.
honestly, there's nothing uber about being an ubersexual. they ought to have thought of a different adjective. i don't like it.
well in the end dlai's suggestion to everyone is to stop worrying about whether you're uber, metro, homo, hetero, bi, omni or whatever. those are just stupid adjectives coined by people who want your money. just be yourself, and have your own style. put together clothes, footwear, accessories and a professional creative hairjob in a manner that suits your body and face best. play and experiment with your style once in a while. or if you don't care about such things at all, then don't. it is all an individual thing!
stay cool and genuine everyone. Every Day is Be Yourself Day!
